Morocco, land of spices, couscous, and now, badass Techno and House beats. That’s right, folks, this North African country is quickly becoming the next Mecca for electronic music enthusiasts from around the world. And let me tell you, it’s not just the camel rides and mint tea that are worth the trip.

So, let’s close this consumed subject, because by now everyone knows how beautiful and diverse Morocco is, and let’s just focus on how the blossoming of this kingdom couldn’t skip the music industry.

At the forefront of the Moroccan electronic industry are Moroccan internationals like Amine K, WAHM,Safar, Driss Skali, Daox, Ahmed Spins, FNX Omar, Ankhoi, Groefer, Mehdi Choufani, and the young Molyness who recently performed at Cercle in Montreal’s Biosphere, not to mention the promoting Bluetoof, who literally featured the Moroccan flag on his set on HÖR Berlin.

Coming back to the ones who chose to uplift the scene while keeping the focus on national stages and production, I’m speaking of Jably, whose last track on earth (pun intended) “Last Child On Earth” hit the top charts on Beatport, and was featured by legends as Âme and John Digweed.

But trust me, if I keep stating names, this article would never come to an end, and we’re going to miss the whole point that these talented musicians are burning up the worldwide scene, creating unique and exciting sounds that will make your ears and hips happy.

Whether they’re playing at underground clubs or headlining major festivals or labels, they always bring an energy that keeps the crowd on their feet all night long — that’s the Moroccan way of partying.

But it’s not just the locals that are making a name for themselves in the Moroccan electronic music realm; international headliners have also been flocking to Morocco, drawn by the incredible energy of the scene here and the madness of its crowd, as all of them loudly stated.

Morocco has certainly become a destination for music lovers from around the world.

And let’s be real, who wouldn’t want to party with the locals under the beautiful Marrakech sky or in the desert, or on the golden sands of Taghazout?

As they say, “TRUST THE LOCALS.”

Festivals:

Events and festivals that take place in Morocco, like Awake Festival & Origins in Marrakech, the notorious MOGA Festival in Essaouira, Umbra with their taking over up north, Secret Events, and newcomers here and there, are not only providing a platform for DJs and performers to showcase their talents but also a place for people from different cultures and backgrounds to come together and enjoy music in a peaceful and inclusive environment.

And let’s not forget about the amazing visuals and scenery. A lot of effort was made to craft these art pieces, from VJs like Kalamour, light wizards suchlike Madgics Agency to recent NFT curators such as Sercyber. I mean, just look at this!

The country’s rich culture and heritage can be seen and felt in every corner. Imagine dancing under the palm trees while the Kasbahs (forts) and Minarets (towers) light up the background; now that’s a party.

But if you’re more of an “underground club scene” kind of person, Morocco has got your back as well. You could check out venues like Vanity Club in Casablanca, L’envers Marrakech, BKSTG Marrakech where electronic music is regularly featured. These clubs and venues offer a more intimate setting and a chance to experience electronic music more exclusively and uniquely, with smaller crowds and a more themed touch.

So if you’re an electronic music lover looking for a party that promotes peace, love, respect, unity, and positivity, look no further, head to Morocco, and have a good trip.
